Hello! My name is Nick and I am from the USA. I would be delighted to be your teacher. I have three years of experience and currently live in Oaxaca, Mexico. I view teaching as an art form and I also teach in person at a language institute here. Prior to teaching English, I studied horticulture and taught organic gardening to children. I am also a Spanish language learner.
Me as a Teacher
I have 3 years of English teaching experience in total and obtained a TEFL in the USA. I see my teaching as an art to help you grow. In our trial lesson, we will get to know each other, and I will ask you a series of questions from the CEFR test to help you practice an assess your level. You will then be able to choose from the 3 types of lesson I offer (TOEFL speaking practice, general English, and interview stye conversation practice). I will then give you advice on what to study and we will continue from there.
My lessons & teaching style
Conversation lessons will be centered around a topic and I will ask you questions about that topic that are at your level and are also designed to challenge you. We will chat as friends and you won't have to go over grammar drills.
TOEFL lessons will provide you with opportunities to practice real speaking activities from the test. For these lessons I require you to already have a B2 level. I will share tips about grammar, transitional words, introductions, and conclusions.
In general English lessons, we will use articles, discussion questions, videos, and games. Depending on your level we will drill grammar, have written homework assignments, and vocabulary practice.
