7 Years Teaching Korean Literature (CSAT) | Fun, Personalized Korean Conversation Hi! I'm Sang-woo Shin, but you can just call me Sean. I'm actually an italki student myself, studying English — so I know exactly what it feels like to sit on the other side of the lesson, searching for words and hoping the person across the screen won't judge me for it. That experience shapes how I teach. I've spent 7 years teaching Korean Literature to high school students preparing for the CSAT (Korean SAT). Working with so many students taught me one thing: once you lose interest, results follow. So I focus on personalized lessons that match each student's interests, pace, and personality. I'm genuinely curious about other cultures, and I love listening more than talking — tell me a story from your life, your country, anything, and I'm all ears. I won't jump in to correct every little mistake either; the goal is for you to keep talking, not freeze up. Bring whatever topic you want. I also host a Korean podcast called Sean's Korean Podcast, where I introduce Korean culture to a global audience, and I've written a short story book for Korean learners on the side — teaching is genuinely something I love doing in every form. I'm into K-dramas, anime, books, movies, fitness, history, and travel — ask me about the last K-drama I binged, I have opinions.
