I'm Sandra and I'm from NC in the USA. However I have spent the past 10 years living abroad both in Colombia and Spain. I love learning about languages and teaching them as well. In my free time, it shouldn't be a surprise that I love to read and write. I also like to watch TV or movies. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and learning about different places, so travel is another of my favorite things to do and talk about.Me as a Teacher
I have been teaching in some way for most of my life. I started tutoring in university to Spanish students and helping other students improve their writing. Later after graduation I started teaching English as a volunteer in NC and then in Colombia to Secondary students and adults. Finally in Spain I worked as a teacher assistant in both Primary and Secondary and tutored privately to those looking to improve their skills.
Over the years I have continuously sought toimprove my teaching skills and recieved numerous hours of training as well as obtaining my Masters. I also am certified by Cambridge as a Speaking Examiner.My lessons & teaching style
I adapt my lesson to my students. According to the Univeral Design for Learning, every learner is individual and unique and one of the benefits of private tutoring is the ability to tailor classes to their needs. In general, I focus on improving all skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) through interaction and not in isolation.
I also try to implement Flipped methodology if suitable. I prefer to send simple tasks to be done alone before the class so that more complex review or discussion can take place in the class together.My teaching material
