I'm Gina A. Gargoles. I hail from the beautiful province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. I've a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a Major in English. I love watching movies, travelling, photography and connecting with people from different cultures. I would love to teach you Tagalog and Cebuano in a quick and easy way.
Me as a Teacher
I'm excited to be here to teach you Tagalog and Cebuano. I'm passionate about teaching these languages as it's a gateway to connect with the stories, emotions and culture of the Filipino people. Whether you’re learning to speak with family, prepare for travel, or just because you are curious, I'm here to support you.
I'm committed to making your learning journey fun and engaging. I know what it's like to learn something completely new, and I want our classes to feel comfortable, free to make mistakes and celebrate progress, big or small. I'm open to any questions or feedback you have, and I can't wait to get to know each of you along the way.
My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is all about you. I believe in a student-centered approach. This means that our lessons will be customized to your needs, interests and learning pace. I'll encourage you to ask questions, practice conversations and use the language in ways that's meaningful to you.
I'm here to support you to build confidence and explore the language. We’ll learn grammar and vocabulary and spend a lot of time speaking, listening and interacting in real life situations. My goal is to make sure you’re not just memorizing words but truly connecting with the language. I'm here to help you every step of the way.

It is so much fun to learn with Gina. She adapts to my knowledge level and I make great progress with her. She is great at explaining and gives real life examples for me to learn.
She also helps communicating with my family on the Philippines and I am very grateful for that.

Gina is a very caring and patient teacher, and she pays attention to what I want to learn. She's always happy to make great new original learning materials, and tailor her lesson style and topics from my requests. Her personality is warm and gentle and she's open to chatting about local lifestyle too. She helps me with pronunciation and language structure using practical sample sentences, which also impart some Philippines customs in our lesson.

Great lesson with Gina! We reviewed the sentences that we wrote during the last lesson, and Gina made sure that I understood what they mean. After that, Gina shared a picture about "gathering and eating together" and explained about family togetherness. We created some more sentences using a list of vocabulary words (some new, some that we already saw). It was a fun class and interesting to learn about the culture with Gina!

I’ve had many Tagalog classes with Gina, and every single one has been a rewarding and enjoyable learning experience. Her lessons are clear, engaging, and tailored to my pace, making even difficult grammar easy to grasp.
She’s patient, encouraging, and genuinely cares about my progress. My confidence in speaking Tagalog has grown so much thanks to her guidance. We also talked about local culture and lifestyle to help me understand more about the Philippines.
Gina is also warm, friendly, and genuinely invested in their students’ progress. Her consistency and positive energy make every lesson something I look forward to.
If you’re serious about learning Tagalog or preparing yourself for a trip, I highly recommend Gina.

Great lesson with Gina! We had small talk, where Gina told me a lot about the culture. After that, we reviewed and checked the sentences that I wrote during our last lesson. I appreciate Gina being honest and candid in our conversation!

Great lesson with Gina! We started with small talk about family and the holidays. After that, we read several stories that Gina had prepared. Gina asked me questions about different words from the story to make sure that I really understood it. Gina is very good at checking to see that I know the meaning and understand when words are similar or confusing!
