My name is Ayen. I am from the Philippines. I live in the province of Zambales where you can find sweet mangoes, beautiful beaches, and Mt. Pinatubo. Of course, I love eating ripe mangoes and going to the beach. My hobbies are cross-stitching, beads-crafting, gardening, and doing DIY projects.

Me as a Teacher
I worked as a Public Senior High School Teacher for 5 years, from 2017 to 2022. I teach Tagalog in ITalki. I can handle students in different levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. I enjoy teaching students especially when they learn the lessons quickly. In my class, I use PowerPoint presentations to deliver the lessons. I prefer to teach conversational Tagalog.
Though learning a foreign language is difficult, I will make it easy for you. In my class, it’s okay to make mistakes, especially if you are a beginner. I will be gentle and patient with you. I will make sure that you will feel comfortable with me.
My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is student-centered. Every lesson will cover the parts of speech (nouns, pronouns, verbs, etc.) and tenses (past, present, future). I deliver 4-in-1 lessons (listening, reading, writing, and speaking). I will start teaching my students with common greetings and phrases. We will discuss the meaning of each word. I will provide lists of vocabulary words. Eventually, I will guide them on how to form sentences in Tagalog, depending on what topics we have during our conversation.
