My name is Cían /'ki:'ɪn/. I am a master's student in University College Dublin. I am studying International Development. I love helping others and thats why teaching appeals to me so much. The interaction I have from my students and the growth I see in them gives me a sense of purpose. I love reading and writing. I am a poet. Movies also are a passion of mine. I am particularly interested in Irish cinema. I can't wait to learn more about you!Me as a Teacher
I began teaching in 2023 after I finished my degree. I have taught in Spain and in my home country of Ireland. I love learning and want to give others the opportunity to learn from me as well. I like to create a fun and productive atmosphere in my classrooms. I love to bring positivity and life into my lessons by making them engaging, topical, and relevant. TEFL Level 5 - TEFL.org - 2023I did my primary teacher training in the summer of 2023 after my degree from Trinity. It gave me the tools to then go and work in Spain and then in Dublin as a language teacher with great proficiency.

English Language InstructorI worked with MondragónLingua from September 2023 until April 2024. Here I taught Cambridge English Exams, did online tutoring, worked with a wide range of language learners with varying abilities, and worked with children. It was an excellent experience which taught me a lot about the teaching world and helped me develop my distinctive teaching style.

Bachelor’s - Philosophy and Political ScienceI studied Philosophy and Political Science in the most reputable college in Ireland. It has taught me a lot and given me a critical thinking mindset. It also means I am well informed and able to have discussion about the news and current events, which I like to do in my lessons.

Cian is very comfortable to work with and the atmosphere in our lessons is always friendly. In every lesson, I learn many interesting facts about Ireland and discover something useful about the language in general. Additionally, Cian is quite flexible and builds the classes taking into account my interests and needs, which is an excellent quality for any teacher =)
