Bryana Burrell

Bryana is an absolutely incredible ASL teacher. Her lessons are well paced and full of information. She offers resources outside of class, such as useful videos on bettering one's ability to sign or knowledge of Deaf culture. After every lesson, she sends a document with a brief review of the lesson, some suggestions for practice, & notes for what will come next. Her teaching is very well organized without feeling rigid and she is a fun conversation partner. It's a blessing to have such a patient and encouraging sign language teacher. I strongly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn ASL!

Learning with Bryana for nearly a month, I can already sign a lot. Bryana is always so patient and kind, she practises with me during the lesson and I got a lot of chances to practise what I've learnt. Bryana would give me feedback and answer my questions. Our lessons are productive, relaxing, and fun at the same time. I feel very lucky to have found Bryana as my ASL teacher on italki.

Bryana was wonderful with my 12-year-old daughter. My daughter had been learning ASL through books and videos, and this was her first lesson with a real person. It was great to see her actively interacting, practicing conversation, and gaining confidence through real-time communication. Bryana is very cheerful, patient, and engaging, which made the lesson enjoyable and comfortable. My daughter truly enjoyed the experience and is excited to continue learning ASL with her. I highly recommend Bryana as an ASL instructor.
