Hi ! I'm Melissa, I'm French and I currently live in Luxembourg. I studied violinmaking in Belgium for 3 years, worked in this area for several years, and I've recently decided to leave this musical field in order to teach my tongue language to you ! I spend a lot of my free time outdoors : I love hiking, skiing, travelling... I'm passionate about the UK and I'll never be sick of learning English ! I'm also good at cooking/baking and I'm always willing to taste new food cultures. Finally, I like to create things by hand : sewing, drawing, etc.Me as a Teacher
I'm motivated in my studies to become a good teacher and hopefully will graduate this year. I've done loads of languages exchange online, so I'm used to manage conversations and make it natural. Thanks to my training, I have the basics of teaching now and I can't wait to start helping you progress :) I've always been a good listener and you'll feel comfortable with me ! I won't hesitate to correct you, but I'll never interrupt you, so you can learn from your mistakes as well as improve your fluency in a real and casual conversation !My lessons & teaching style
During the first lesson, we'll get to know each other and you'll explain your goals so I can adapt my lessons to you. I'll write down the vocabulary, idioms and grammar forms we discussed about during each lesson, on a text document to which you'll access to. I'm used to using Google docs, One Drive or iCloud Drive, it'll be up to you :)

Great first lesson with Melissa! We started by talking about why/how/when I learned French, and what my goals would be. We also did a "break the ice" activity where we asked each other questions. I tried to ask and respond in French as much as possible. Melissa has a good sense of when to correct my speaking mistakes and when to not interrupt the flow!

Great lesson with Melissa! We talked about weddings and marriage. We also talked about books - one that I am reading and one that Melissa really likes. We also talked about the movie "Lucy", which related to Melissa's book. It was a very entertaining discussion!

I started taking lessons with Melissa in order to improve my spoken French (the Italki test said that I am B1 level). I've had about 10-12 lessons so far with her. It really helped when Melissa told me that she wants me to avoid using English, and if it takes a long time for me to say something in French that's okay. Since then, putting the extra effort to avoid switching to English has really helped my spoken French!

Melissa est une excellente professeure, ses cours sont interactifs et adaptés à mon niveau. J'ai appris beaucoup de vocabulaire utile, tels que la garderie, la crèche ou les opérations mathématiques. De plus, elle m'aide à améliorer ma prononciation et à structure mes idées. Néanmoins, je dois encore pratiquer pour être plus spontané. Malheureusement, les séances passent trop vite. elle mérite cinq étoiles.
