I haven't left a review in a while so I figured I'd do one again. By now I have taken over 35 lessons with Pelin which is the most i have ever had with any tutor on iTalki by a long shot. Pelin very clearly has the knowledge to teach Turkish via her education and the discipline/drive to make good lessons. It is very clear that a lot of time goes into preparing the lessons. In the beginning I was especially surprised at how comfortable speaking felt even when I was at a novice beginner level. Pelin is good at making you use your existing Turkish to its full potential. Conversations even at that level are personal and relevant to what you want to learn, not standard textbook material (or at least, only when it is useful for studying something now). Out of all the tutors I have ever tried on iTalki, Pelin is by far the best and it is not even close, whch is definitely reflected by her absurdly high retention rate of almost 20 lessons per student. I can only most warmly recommend her!

Pelin is a highly committed and engaged teacher with profound knowledge of how her native language functions. My learning style is quite abstract, and Pelin has a gift for explaining grammar rules and other curiosities.

I’ve been learning with Pelin for around two months and I am absolutely satisfied. She is very professional, friendly, and helpful. She carefully prepares lessons based on your needs and is always open to requests. She regularly asks for feedback to make sure you get the most out of your learning. I’m very happy with my progress and will definitely continue studying with her.

I’ve been taking classes with Pelin since 2025 and every single class has been a joy. From day one she made me feel so comfortable and safe to make mistakes, and her patience is truly incredible. She always encourages me to use the grammar and tools I already have instead of just giving me the answers, which has helped me so much. She puts so much care into preparing materials for every class, adapts to whatever topics interest me, and sends homework whenever I need extra practice. I especially love that she goes back to things I learned before but hadn’t fully grasped, so I never just move forward, I actually understand. Thanks to her, my speaking and my Turkish overall have improved so much, and I genuinely look forward to our classes every time.
