Bilingual Educator (BA Hons) | TEFL Certified | 2+ Yrs Exp | English & Afrikaans Specialist Hallo! I’m Maronel, a bilingual educator from South Africa with a passion for bringing the vibrant rhythms of Afrikaans and English to life. Growing up on a citrus farm in the Eastern Cape and living across three provinces, I developed a deep appreciation for the cultural heart of language. With a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Linguistics and an Honours in Psychology, I don’t just teach—I apply the science of learning to help you master a new language with confidence and ease. With over two years of experience and a TEFL certification, I specialize in creating a supportive, high-energy environment where students feel empowered to speak from day one. My background in Psychology allows me to tailor every session to your unique learning style, ensuring that whether we are starting with "Hoe gaan dit?" or tackling complex business dialogue, you feel heard and encouraged. I see myself as your partner in this journey, bridging the gap with patience, cultural insight, and a celebratory approach to every milestone. What to expect in our classroom: Interactive & Vibrant: We move far beyond textbooks using roleplay, quizzes, and videos. Real-World Skills: Master everything from formal grammar to local slang and current trends. Tailored Tracks: Custom lessons for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Practical Results: Fun, engaging sessions designed to give you skills you can use immediately.

Maronel is the best! Each lesson is tailored toward my progress. She is patient and fun. The lessons are a personalized mix of grammar and sentence structure, but also fun things like reading or role-playing so it never gets boring or overwhelming. Highly recommend!

Maronel is an amazing teacher. She has been such an incredible help in teaching me Afrikaans so that I may communicate with my family. My stepson even wanted to start taking lessons from her after sitting in on one of my lessons, so we have him signed up and on his Afrikaans learning journey with her as well. We are so thankful for Maronel!

Maronel is fantastic. Good review of the prior learning and careful introduction of new vocabulary. She listens carefully and pitches the next lesson to your level. She is very good at finding your Goldilocks level.
