Already 6 months studying Japanese with Yoko sensei! One of the best things about the class is that Yoko sensei explains things and converses in Japanese as much as possible. Speaking and listening as much as you can in the target language is tough but will get you to your goal as soon as possible. Can't find a better tutor and class 😃

My 8-year-old daughter loves Yoko-sensei's lessons! Yoko-sensei provides kid-friendly lessons and tailors them thoughtfully to each child's needs. She is easy to communicate with, and her review documents are incredibly helpful for both my daughter and me. Her class feedback is always detailed and well-written. I highly recommend Yoko-sensei if you're looking for a Japanese teacher for young children!

I took 4, 55 minute survival Japanese classes with Yoko san and had a very nice experience. As a teacher, she is very patient, always positive, very friendly and kind. She provides her own pdfs. Every lesson she will do some review from the prior lesson to help reinforce what you learned. She also repeats words and sentences a couple of times which is super helpful for reinforcing correct pronunciation. She has you practice variations of phrases to help reinforce the structure of the phrases. She put together thoughtful and organized pictures and vocabulary/phrases for situations you commonly encounter for travel. A lot of vocabulary she has included has some similar pronunciation to English which is helpful for memorizing. We covered a lot from transportation, restaurant, directions, and shopping etc. Pacing is good and there is no pressure. Thank you for the lessons Yoko san!

I've had well over 100 lessons with Yoko-sensei now, and I'm very grateful for all the help she's given me, as well as the energy, enthusiasm and positivity that she always brings to our lessons. It's been very useful to talk about a wide range of subjects - and has helped to improve my vocabulary and overall Japanese significantly. I intend on continuing to take lessons with Yoko-sensei regularly, and will continue to recommend her to friends that want to study Japanese. I do the 25 min chat with Yoko-san every week. She is an amazing conversation partner - she always has a follow-up question, or keeps the conversation going for the whole session. She’s very patient and uses gentle modeling to correct my mistakes, so I never feel judged if I make a mistake.
