Giulia

I'm writing this second review for Giulia by way of follow-up to my June comments about her helping me with preparation for the CILS C2 exam. Well, I passed the test! Thanks so much for your great work, Giulia...your assistance was invaluable!

Great lesson with Giulia! We learned the vocabulary about family members. We also learned about reflexive verbs and did a listening exercise. Giulia noticed a mistake I was making with personal pronouns and reviewed the rules so that I understood, which was very helpful!

Great lesson with Giulia! I presented a true crime story, as Giulia asked me to do. Giulia enjoyed it, even as I struggled to explain things. After that, we did additional exercises to practice the verb tenses that we already learned. It was a good idea because Giulia saw that I was struggling with them. I have to give Giulia credit for making sure that I understand things well enough before moving on, it is the right thing to do!

I strongly recommend Giulia for thoughtful, targeted lessons and test prep. I've had several tutors on italki for several languages. Generally, I find the most affordable teachers for informal speaking practice. This time, practicing for an Italian CILS exam, I was willing to pay a little more for more structured prep - Giulia's enthusiasm and professionalism justify that higher price point and then some. She takes organized notes, gives contextual feedback, and has a whole toolbox of methods to apply based on your specific goals. For personalized tutoring, you can't go wrong with Giulia.

Even though I wasn’t in the most talkative mood today, Giulia kept the conversation flowing with positivity and effort. She really worked to keep the lesson engaging, and I appreciated that. Definitely recommend.
