Certified AP English, Literature & Writing, and ESL teacher with 15 years of experience Hello, I'm James--a certified English teacher (certified English 6-12 teacher in Washington DC and Tennessee and QTS certified in the UK) and native English speaker with 15 years of classroom teaching experience. I have a bachelor's degree in English literature and creative writing and a master's degree in professional and technical writing, so literature and writing are both areas that I greatly enjoy exploring with students. Typical classes with me start with some small talk before digging into the "meat" of the lesson--whether that be new vocabulary, explaining grammar rules, offering help with homework, or pulling from my extensive teaching resources to talk about writing or literature. Homework is always optional as well--if you want more practice, I am more than happy to give it to you!
