Native Beijing Mandarin speaker with a twist—I teach with humor and global flair! Fluent in English (thanks to Ireland) and conversational Spanish (gracias, Mexico!), I blend language learning with cultural insights from my travels to 10+ countries as a stand-up comedian. Whether you’re starting from zero or polishing fluency, let’s make Mandarin fun with jokes, news chats, and stories from my sociology studies at Trinity College Dublin. 普通话 time just got a whole lot livelier!
¡Hablante nativo de mandarín de Pekín, pero con un toque especial! Enseño con humor y un estilo muy internacional. Hablo inglés con fluidez (gracias, Irlanda) y español conversacional (gracias, México).
Me as a Teacher
I have taught Chinese and English to big and small groups for 2 years. I believe language is fundamentally a conversation mediator; therefore, my class is fundamentally focused on developing your confidence in speaking. I am a fun teacher, humour is a natural part of my personality, and I like to know my students’ interests and passions, and be friends with them.
He enseñado chino e inglés a grupos grandes y pequeños durante 2 años. Creo que el idioma es, fundamentalmente, un mediador de conversación; por eso, mi clase se centra en desarrollar tu confianza al hablar.
My lessons & teaching style
For beginners, I will divide our class into three parts.
In the first part, we will practice basic conversations, learning the common daily expressions. In the second part, we will focus on Pinyin, which is the sound system of the Chinese language. It usually takes around 4–7 classes to complete all the Pinyin syllables, and after that, you will be able to “decode” the language much more easily.
For the last 5–10 minutes of each class, I will introduce something interesting about Chinese culture. This may include music, festivals, history, to keep your energy going.
If you are not a beginner, feel free to tell me your learning goals and I will tailor the lessons to your needs.
