Hi! I’m Yuko. My goal is to make learning Japanese fun, relaxed, and easy to continue.
I studied abroad in California for 4 years, majoring in ethnomusicology. That experience helped me understand how language connects people and cultures.
After returning to Japan, I worked in translation, music production, and web editing, and I’m also a mom of 2 boys. I use all these experiences to make my lessons creative and practical.
In 2022, I became a certified holistic coach in the U.S. I can help you stay motivated, feel confident, and enjoy learning—even as a complete beginner.Me as a Teacher

Yuko is a patient, understanding and sincere teacher who clearly cares very much about helping her students learn Japanese in a way that works for them and at a pace that is suitable for them. I look forward to having more lessons with her!

The lesson was very clear and well-structured. Yuko-san asked me beforehand what I wanted to learn and came fully prepared, so I felt completely at ease during the lesson. I also learned Japanese expressions I’d never known before, which I think will be really useful in my life in Japan from now on.

We went through the homework and quiz from last time, then had a chat using some of the new words and phrases I just learnt.
Really nice that Yuko-san could point out the mistakes and the not-so-natural parts, and show me better ways to say things!
