Learn Swahili: Grammar & Speaking | Structured Lessons for Beginners, Expats & Professionals Karibu! I’m Grace, a Swahili teacher helping English speakers build practical speaking skills from day one. I teach: • Conversational Swahili for learners who want to speak naturally • Beginner to intermediate Swahili with clear, step-by-step guidance • Practical Swahili for professionals moving to or working in East Africa (NGO staff, researchers, diplomats, expats, and travelers) My lessons focus on real-life communication, not memorizing vocabulary lists. You’ll practice speaking, listening, and useful grammar through conversation, role-play, and everyday situations you’ll actually face. Whether you’re preparing for relocation, fieldwork, travel, or personal goals, lessons are tailored to your needs and pace. I speak both English and Swahili fluently, so I explain clearly and get you speaking from the start. Book a trial lesson and start speaking Swahili.

Mwalimu Grace is always punctual and so well prepared. We finished reading a story from last time, went over some reading comprehension questions, then moved on to watching a video about the Congo forest. It was very interesting.

Great lesson with Grace! We learned about relating nouns to each other and how the noun class determines the relationship. We came up with different sentences using the different noun classes. Grace is doing a great job of planning the lessons in a logical order!

Great lesson with Grace! We read a paragraph about "Juma's day". Grace explained the parts of the story that I didn't understand. She also explained about how ni, na and kwa are used. Grace did a nice job of leading me through the story and helping me understand it!

Another great lesson with Mwalimu Grace. A good balance of free talk and focused reading. Lots of good side conversations when we hit particularly interesting parts of the reading. Looking forward to next week's lesson!

Great lesson with Grace! We reviewed sentences using "ya" and "na". We also learned about different prepositions, and made sentences using them. Grace explained how words like "kiko" change according to the noun. Her explanations are easy to understand!

Lots of good learning today. We finally finished a long story and also had good discussions about whatever topics came to mind. We also came up with a plan for next time to do something different. Mwalimu Grace has lots of ideas to make learning interesting and effective.
