CELTA qualified tutor with over 6 years of teaching experience Hi 👋🏼 My name is Lily and I have a passion for languages! I am currently living in Medellín, Colombia and studying Spanish, French and Polish. I also have a love of animals, baking and art. I completed my CELTA qualification 5 years ago to allow me to teach and travel. For a few months I lived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where I taught English to small classes and individual students. I then moved to Moscow where I worked in an international school as a Teaching Assistant, and then a Teacher of English as a Second Language. Alongside this, I have been privately tutoring many students, both children and adults, in English and Maths for over 5 years now. My teaching philosophy encompasses personalised learning; I value building a strong rapport with each student, getting to know their unique learning styles and appropriately adapting my teaching to their abilities and interests. I firmly believe that students are in the best position to learn and develop when they feel supported and are enjoying their English lessons. As a language learner myself, I fully understand the range of difficulties that can be found when trying to speak another language, let alone with native speakers. I succeed in being a reassuring and encouraging leader of the class, particularly with students of a lower age and ability.
