Hi! I'm Carlos! I am very passionate about languages and literature, with significant experience in Ecuador, where I lived for eight years. During this time, I worked as a teacher at the Brazilian-Ecuadorian Institute of Culture, deepening my connection with Latin American culture and embracing my identity as an eternal foreigner, always curious about other cultures. I'm a very proud Brazilian and Portuguese speaker, who loves books, movies, TV shows and geek culture in general.

I have been working as a Portuguese teacher for more than 8 years, teaching both in-person and online classes. I hold a degree in Translation from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) and two specialized courses in Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language and Brazilian Literature, as well as a master’s degree in Advanced Studies in Spanish and Latin American Literature from the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja. I have helped hundreds of students throughout my career, and I can help you learn Portuguese from scratch, improve and enhance your Portuguese, or prepare you for Celpe-Bras, the official Portuguese language proficiency exam, through a dynamic and communicative approach.My lessons & teaching style
I prioritize a communicative approach that views language learning within real-life contexts of use. To achieve this, I emphasize written and oral production and comprehension aimed at accomplishing essential everyday tasks, such as booking a hotel room, writing a professional email, or delivering a presentation. From these practices, I strive to provide the necessary grammatical, lexical, and syntactic tools for improvement, considering the gaps and needs identified.
