I am Shelley, a Canadian native speaker and professional English teacher with 16 years experience, including working and living in South Korea. As a certified Level 2 CELPIP instructor, I teach adults CELPIP and IELTS test preparation to help students pass exams and obtain Permanent Residency in Canada. I also have TESOL certification and teach Business English and Conversational English for adults. I have a background in photojournalism, professional writing, and travel and tourism. I am an experienced sailor and have sailed across the Atlantic Ocean twice and also climbed to Mt. Everest Base camp. I love travelling as much as I like meeting new friends!Me as a Teacher
I really love helping my students to feel more confident using English in the workplace, in business, with travel and abroad. Learning English is not as simple as studying from a textbook and it takes an experienced teacher to create a confident student who understands the idioms, slang and everyday use of the language. I focus on bringing those skills to my students in an interactive, fun and engaging class. It brings me a lot of joy to see my students learn and succeed.
We talk about interests, world events, and debate issues, and I create an interactive learning environment which includes speaking, listening, reading and writing, and homework to further your learning.My lessons & teaching style
