Hi there! I’m Riley, and I’m from sunny California. I’m a big fan of exploring the world around me, whether it’s through hiking scenic trails or getting lost in a great movie.

I have over three years of teaching experience. I have a TEFL certificate which stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. It refers to teaching English to non-native speakers in countries where English is not the primary language. With this certificate, I am qualified to teach English in classrooms, online, or even one-on-one lessons. It’s a widely recognized certification for English teachers worldwide! I’m always happy to adjust my lessons and teaching style to fit your needs and preferences. I like to think of learning a language as similar to going to the gym. Just as you’d work out all your muscles for balanced fitness, I believe it’s important to practice all your language skills—reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, and grammar.
And just like building muscles, learning a language takes time, dedication, and consistent effort! I will also be here to help you set achievable goals, create a study plan that works for you, and provide helpful resources to use outside the classroom. I wanted to have a few classes with Riley before posting a testimony. He’s kind and has great listening skills. And while kindness is always appreciated, I think it’s the listening that really makes the difference when it comes to teaching. I had tried a few other teachers before him, just to get a sense of different styles, and some showed signs of impatience or seemed more focused on talking than listening. Which is fine, but when you’re practicing, what you really need is someone who listens, corrects, and stays aware of the communication between both of you — and Riley does that very well.
