Hello! My name is Tomomi. I am a certified teacher and I have been living in the UK for over 10 years.
I am originally from Gunma, Japan. Before moving to the UK, I studied jewelry design and metal engraving in Tokyo, and after graduating, I worked as an office employee.
I also have gained experience working at comanies in London.
My hobbies include watching movies, listening to music, traveling, enjoying coffee, cooking and eating delicious food(I am a big foodie 😋). I also love talking with people from different backgrounds 🎵Me as a Teacher
I have completed all requirements for the 420-hour Japanese Language Teacher Training Course in 2025.
I believe that the most important thing in learning language is to enjoy it. I create a relaxed environment where lessons are fun and efficient, so you can learn comfortably and effectively.
I have studied English a lot and continue to learn every day here in the UK, that helps me understand how people who are learning language and living abroad feel and I know how to help them stay motivated💪 My lessons & teaching style
In my lesson, we will focus mainly on speaking. We’ll practice using new grammar and vocabulary aloud as much as possible.🗣️

We went over some of the grammar points in Quartet today, and Tomomi-sensei had prepared worksheets to get me more comfortable using them. I've been really enjoying talking with her freely too, and she gives lovely advice and feedback!

I have had a handful of lessons with Tomomi Sensei and I really enjoy how easy it is to digest Japanese with her. I don’t feel pressured to be correct and it’s fun to try. When Tomomi Sensei does correct me, she does it in a way that I don’t feel bad or like I’m not trying hard enough. I also really enjoy the lesson summaries she creates as I find them really helpful to look over.

I've had two lessons with Tomomi Sensei now and I'm really enjoying it. It's really easy to talk with Tomomi Sensei. The way she explains things is easy to understand and she's very patient with me while I try to formulate my answers. I've already booked another lesson!! I think I can get far in my Japanese studies with Tomomi Sensei c:

This was my trial lesson with Tomomi-sensei! Despite some technical issues we had with italki's classroom, she was extremely patient and very fun to talk to! We laid out some lesson plans with Quartet and I'm excited to see where this goes.
