🍀 Hi! I was born in Korea and have been living in Australia for many years. I worked for 17 years at one of Australia’s top law firms, gaining strong experience in Business English and professional communication. I’m now a certified ESL teacher based in Sydney, passionate about helping others learn English and Korean.
🍀 I love languages. Previously fluent in Japanese, and now comfortably conversational in Spanish thanks to my love for Latin music and dance.
🍀 I am into hiking, cooking, Latin dancing, tennis, science, making fermented foods, watching films & TV series, and discovering amazing international cuisine.Me as a Teacher
🌿 An ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher with a CELTA qualification.
🌿 Experience in teaching English to overseas students and migrants to Australia.
🌿 Experience in teaching Korean as well as English to the native Spanish speakers during language exchanges for more than 4 years.
🌿 Experience in teaching Korean to Australians who are learning it through a Meetup group for around 15 years.
🌿 My students say I am patient, caring & encouraging as well as empathetic so my lessons give them a space where they feel comfortable with the language.

🎯 My lessons focus on speaking but I also help with vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening and writing depending on your language level, interests, motivation and preferred learning methods.
🎯 Language learning involves not only the language itself but also the culture, the food and much more so you will be introduced to histories, back stories or hidden facts about the language, the culture and the food.
🎯 A wide variety of lesson materials will be incorporated to maintain your engagement and motivation.
🎯 Homework will be provided to speed up your learning pace but it’s optional.
🎯 A 6 month learning plan (for beginners only) and regular written feedback will be provided.My teaching material

Genie made me feel really comfortable right from the start. She asked questions to get to know me and my interests. I am really glad that the materials she focused on are ones that I already have and already really enjoy. Genie was able to help me work through some confusing points in this lesson and help me improve some finer points on my pronunciation! She provided me with a 6-month study plan and homework which I LOVE! Sad I have to take a week off to travel; I can't wait for my next lesson!
