Certified teacher with 10 years of experience Hello there! I've travelled a fair bit in my life, having enjoyed many parts of Canada, Mexico, Europe, East Africa, Central America.... I can't wait to keep adding to that list! Before I started teaching, I was working as a professional chef for about 12 years. I love cooking, learning about food, and trying every dish I can. In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, cooking, going to the theatre, gardening, and chatting. Two of my favourite experiences have been sky diving, and seeing Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe... what are yours? I am an outgoing and enthusiastic tutor who has a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate. I have been teaching English as a second language since 2015, and I have been teaching literacy since 2020. I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds. In addition to being a native English speaker, I am in the process of learning French (and in the past I have studied German and Spanish). I understand the challenges and rewards that come with learning another language, as well as the importance of communication and clarity of speech. My lessons are tailored to the student, and are fun and engaging. We can work on grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, conversation skills, or anything else that you are curious about!
