Hi! I'm a qualified Latin with Classics teacher from the UK. I am a PGCE and MPhil graduate from the University of Cambridge, and I love helping students build an in-depth understanding of ancient languages. Since qualifying as a teacher I have tutored full time, and I enjoy reading, learning modern languages, and art.
Me as a Teacher
I am an empathetic teacher; whatever you're learning, I hope to make you feel at ease and confident that you will grow with practice. I work with students to set learning goals and discover the best methods of working towards them. I am knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and I love to talk about history and literature while we learn the language!
My lessons & teaching style
I work with Latin and Greek courses and textbooks suitable for your level and goals. A typical lesson might involve reading a story, learning a new point of grammar and practising it, and talking through how to learn vocab between lessons. My style is friendly, fun, and encouraging, and I'm not afraid to give students challenging material if they're ready.

Teacher’s pick
After taking my AP Latin exam, I am astonished by how far I’ve come with the help of Lucy. Throughout all of our classes no time was wasted in learning new grammar, working on practices, or going through translation. After just about a year of studies I can say I have learned more than I ever expected and have reached my goal of even feasibly taking this test. Thank you to Lucy for making this possible and assisting me in my ambitious goal to take on this, for without it I most definitely wouldn’t have made it as far. I am excited to continue studying Latin at a more leisurely pace but keep working towards perfecting my translation and grammar in future lessons.

I really like her gentle, yet efficient approach to teaching. It's really good to feel like you're learning and making a friend at the same time.

It was a pretty good start, although a little difficult to read the downloaded book while doing class.
