With 20 years in the UK and a background in American/European Studies and Japanese Culture, I help learners understand both language and cultural nuances. In my lessons, you will see slides filled with illustrations. You will also have a lot of opportunities to listen, speak, read and write Japanese, and you will learn how to use practical Japanese.
If you are a total beginner, I am happy to teach Hiragana & Katakana from scratch, step by step. Then, I would recommend you the best textbook from “Minna no Nihongo” or “Irodori” to study with me, according to your needs and wishes.
I can also provide “Survival Japanese for Travel” (usually 3-4 lessons), which will enrich your visit to Japan even more.
For those at an Intermediate level or above, “Let’s read the Bible in Japanese” is available.My teaching material

Today was another good lesson. We discussed how to address people and what the differences are. There was a lot of room for questions and Kyoko sensei adjusted the lesson when we discussed katakana. It is very pleasant to work together in this way.

Kyoko sensei is a very friendly teacher who is able to adjust to me as a student. I am an older person of 60+ and she is patient and willing to answer my (many) questions. We had a good time together in this lesson and I am looking forward to the next one.
