Hello! I’m Asami ✨ I’m a Japanese teacher from Gifu with experience living in the UK. I specialise in practical Japanese for travel and beginner lessons. With 11 years in customer service (fashion store manager and dental receptionist), I focus on supportive, patient teaching tailored to your pace.
I love helping students learn real-life Japanese — especially phrases you can use during your travels. I also enjoy chatting about hot springs and history, so lessons can be both educational and fun!

With 11 years of experience in fashion retail – including 7 years as a store manager – and time as a head receptionist at a dental clinic, I’ve developed strong communication skills and a calm, patient approach. I'm used to supporting people with different needs, so I’m happy to go at your pace.
Mistakes are part of learning! My lessons offer a relaxed, supportive space where you can practise with confidence.

I speak Japanese (Native) and English (Basic conversation level). My lessons are mainly in Japanese, but I can offer simple English support if needed.
I use plenty of pictures and visual aids, so even complete beginners can follow along easily.

Start with Hiragana, Katakana, greetings, and key phrases. I use Minna no Nihongo 1 & 2.
📗 Japanese Conversation
Improve fluency with relaxed conversations. Practise listening and speaking confidently.
📗 Travel Japanese
Learn key phrases for restaurants, shopping, and transport. Gain confidence in real situations.

Asami is very experienced and also a great listener. She is gentle and shows strong empathy, which makes the class atmosphere very supportive. Her knowledge is broad, and she makes the lessons truly engaging. It has been a very interesting course where I have learned many practical things.
