I'm from Los Angeles, CA and I have 4 years of experience teaching English. I have worked with English learners from over 15 countries! I'm also a certified American Accent and Pronunciation Specialist!
I love learning about culture and history from all over the world, and I got my Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Middle Eastern Studies! I am passionate about learning languages myself, especially with the comprehensible input method. I speak English, Spanish, and Arabic!
In my free time, I love to explore my city, hang out with my cats, read novels and books about social science, and watch movies!Me as a Teacher
I am a curious and conversational person! I’ll ask you a lot about yourself, and your interests and opinions. My favorite moments are when I can make my students laugh!
I use the General American Accent in my sessions and I speak very clearly for English learners. I can adjust based on my student's needs. I can detect common grammar and pronunciation issues, which are unique to speakers of different languages.
I can also speak faster and more casually for those who want to learn native speech and slang in my Los Angeles, California accent! My lessons & teaching style
US Accent Training:
Many students struggle with the sounds of English. While there is nothing wrong with speaking with an accent, some students may want to improve their clarity and communication for work, school, or moving/ assimilating to the US. I am a certified specialist and have a ~12 session program for accent training.
Conversation practice:
Many students have different goals in their target language, so I like to collaborate with students on conversation topics. Most importantly, I know that students fear speaking the most out of all of the language skills due to low confidence and a fear of making mistakes. I create an environment where learners feel safe and not judged!My teaching material
