Hello! Hola! Ciao! Bonjour! Iām Christin, a Miami-born English teacher with a Latin heartbeat and a passion for unlocking the *color* of language. Fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and some French, I specialize in helping students master American Englishāits idioms, cultural quirks, and conversational flowājust like Iāve learned to love Italian espresso and French pastries! My 9+ years teaching (and years as a journalist) mean I craft lessons that are as engaging as a good story. When Iām not teaching, Iām probably spending time on the beach, doing yoga or testing recipesābecause language, like food, is best shared joyfully. As a student of languages myself, (I've learned Italian and French in the last 10 years) I try to model the best traits of my former language professors and bring that into the classroom. I have a natural curiosity of people and I use that to learn about my students and what motivates them so I can cater the learning material to what's relevant, useful and necessary for them, so in that way every lesson is engaging. Nothing drives me more than when my students develop confidence and passion for their new adopted language.My lessons & teaching style
In my experience as a digital journalist, I spent a lot of time working with digital tools to enhance storytelling and I continue that practice as an English teacher. I love developing and researching different games and digital techniques to give students multiple ways of acquiring and studying language.
I also really enjoy teaching topics like phrasal verbs, idioms and adjectives because, in my opinion, it's what gives language its color and what allows us to have a closer understanding of the language and the culture of those who speak it.
I put a focus on such competencies as speaking, listening and writing. I do my best to only teach grammar passively.My teaching material

Advanced Certificate in TEFL - TEFL FULL CIRCLE - 2020I was required to study and review multiple aspects of teaching English as a foreign language. The course was a total of 120 hours and culminated in a long form test, writing assignment and submission of a sample lesson plan. I passed this course with a level of "EXCELLENT" for creating a "well-designed, fun and interactive lesson for learners."

I've been learning English with Christin since last September. Christin is a very organized and responsible person. Her schedule is always up to date. If at the lesson we finish a topic before the end of the class, Christin is always prepared and knows how to use remained time with benefit for my studies. Right now she is on vacation, and I'm going to miss her lessons!
