Public speaking, soft skills and language teacher with 20 years of experience Hello, I am Maya from Serbia. Serbian is my native language, and I am here to help you improve your Serbian. We can talk, read, write, and even sing. We can use English as well.
I have 25 years of experience working with people through activism, education, and sport. I organized events, spoke to the media, and led sports training and soft skills workshops. For the last five years, I’ve been teaching online 1-on-1. I can help you with public speaking and presenting, too.
Relaxed, friendly, and patient – I believe that lessons are meant to be enjoyable for both the student and the teacher, especially if the student is a beginner or is afraid of making mistakes while speaking. We learn faster if we enjoy the process. I like to know students’ reasons for learning Serbian, whether they have a goal, a plan, and a due date, preferred methods, materials, and ideas, and then we can make a plan together.
Flexible, supportive, and creative – Progress is more important than perfection. I like to support my students on their path and learn from them, too. To combine materials and ways of learning, and share tips and tricks.
Conversation-based - The best way to learn a foreign language is through real-life communication. Reading and writing are also important. Grammar as well, but I leave it to professionals.
