Me as a Teacher

•Linguistic background: My major was English literature and linguistics. So I know what methods are effective for learning. I will share tips that helped in my studies. •Linguistic empathy : With a background in linguistics and experience studying English, Spanish, French, and Korean, I have a deep understanding of how different languages work. While I mainly teach in Japanese and English, my knowledge of these languages helps me understand the specific challenges you face based on your native grammar! •Real-World Experience: I spent a year in Montreal, Canada. I’ve felt the frustration of not being able to communicate, so I promise a judgment-free space where you can go at your own pace.

My lessons & teaching style

In our first class we’ll start by getting to know each other! I want to hear about your life, your interests, and your motivation for learning Japanese. Together, we will set clear goals so you always know exactly what you are working toward. 📌My lessons are fully tailored to you ・Genki for grammar ( If you want to use other text book, please bring it with you.) ・JLPT(N5-N1) ・Japanese natural conversation( discuss a topic, describe a picture, read out a article etc) ・I create a Google Doc for every student. During our lesson, I’ll record new vocabulary and sentences in real-time. This becomes your personalized study guide that you can access anytime!

Kana-sensei likes clothes and fashion, so I went to Kohl’s before starting the lesson to show her what a clothing store in my state is like. We discussed clothing, fashion differences between the U.S. and Japan, and store layout differences. I had a great time!
