Hi! My name is Maria and I am from Greece. I study journalism and I have a big passion for languages, culture and communication. I speak English, Spanish and a little Italian and French. Besides studing I love photography, literature hisand politics, topics that also inspire many of my conversations. I would describe myself as a curius, open minded persone with a good sense of humor. I think languages are the greatest way to connect with people and I travel often to practice and expirience other cultures first hand. I believe learning should be enjoyable, so I always try to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in class. I love traveling and I truly appreciate the feeling of being able to communicate with locals, and this is exactly the experience I want to share with you while learning Greek. So I focus on real life conversations and useful vocabulary and a lot of practice on speaking. I undersatand the challenges of language learning and I try to be patient and deal every dificulty with houmor and good will. My lessons are practical, interactive and tailored to student's goals. Every student is different so I adapt the pace, materials and focus dependingon each one's level, interest and abilities. FOR BEGINNERS I focus on everyday communication introducing yourself, asking simple questions, ordering food and drink, asking for help and vocabulary for other useful situations. This was my first lesson with Maria, and it went very well! Since I am a beginner, Maria presented the alphabet and explained how to pronounce each letter. We also learned some basic vocabulary and greetings. Maria was helpful and made the class enjoyable!

Great lesson with Maria! We practiced the sounds of different letter combinations. Some of them are similar and need to be pronounced clearly. Maria has a keen ear and helped me make each sound properly. We learned a lot of vocabulary using the sound combinations that we practiced. After that, we read several short dialogs. Maria constantly provides feedback and positive reinforcement!
