Today's lesson over-ran! But it is a testament to the quality of Melis's teaching that I didn't even notice.
These really are enjoyable classes.

Melis continued after we should have finished, as she wanted to teach me something important. She looks at the student rather than the clock! I shall need to book longer lessons so as not to exploit her passion for teaching! I have had 30 minute lessons so far (2) as I find the (beautiful) Armenian alphabet very difficult. Melis says we have now covered the hardest part of the alphabet. In this second lesson we made some simple sentences. We are starting with the alphabet at my request, although Melis also says it is essential. She is keen to teach me what I want to learn. She gave me some homework this time. So I shall need to work with her writing video/s, which I admit I didn’t follow last week, although I had asked for them…. Her follow up material she posts after the lesson is great! Thank you Melis!

Melis was great! Well prepared, flexible with material, and good at explaining words and sounds.

I had a 30 minute lesson to see if I can learn with Melis. I can! She got me reading words in the Armenian alphabet. I need to do a lot of homework now, so that I know the sounds those letters represent. She also taught me some simple everyday greetings. She fitted a lot into 30 minutes. And she’s really patient and encouraging. I look forward to my next lessons.
