Hello there! My name is Ibrahima and I'm from Senegal. I’m a polyglot and I'm fluent in English, French, and Wolof. From computer science and smart homes to writing and manga, I have a variety of passions that keep me engaged and motivated. But there's always something new to explore!
I joined Italki in 2015 to improve my English level which was, terrible back in the day. However, thanks to the amazing people I met on this platform, I was able to significantly improve my language skills and I'm grateful for it. Today, I'm able to communicate fluently in English and I'm excited to continue learning and improving.

Me as a Teacher
I've always been passionate about learning new things and sharing my knowledge with others.
Thanks to my background in computer science, I've been able to develop some "secret formulas" for learning Wolof that I'm excited to share with you! Whether you're just starting out or have some experience with the language, I'm confident that my approach will help you make progress and achieve your goals.
So, whether you're looking to expand your cultural horizons or simply communicate more effectively with Wolof speakers, I've got you covered.
My lessons & teaching style
When it comes to language learning, practice is key - that's why my courses are designed to be practice-focused. I've found that the more you immerse yourself in the language and actively use it, the faster you'll progress.
Additionally, I use a technique that I call "progressive transformation" in my teaching, which involves gradually replacing English words with Wolof words in sentences until they are fully transformed.
This technique helps to improve your understanding of the underlying language structures and makes learning more engaging and effective. If this sounds intriguing to you, then you'll love my courses and the progress you'll make!

I always look forward to the lessons with Ibrahima. He's very kind and patient and explains very well. He helped me to get into the grammar of Wolof language very well so i started to understand how sentences are made. I can really recommend him as a very good teacher who is enthusiastic about his language and about teaching it to others.
