Hello, my name is Maki. I majored in Japanese at university and studied Japanese language education. I am currently raising children, so I also know a lot about parenting in Japan. I worked for many years in the advertising industry. I love both domestic and international travel, and my dream is to go on a trip around the world. I have a great love for anime, especially Studio Ghibli. For intermediate learners, I also offer a special course using YouTube manga videos. In this class, we watch Japanese manga with subtitles and study together. It is recommended for who feel a little bored with ordinary lessons. I understand some English, but in lessons I use easy Japanese.

Me as a Teacher

I majored in Japanese at university and studied Japanese language education. I also have experience teaching Japanese as a volunteer. My experience is limited, but I will do my best to respond to the enthusiasm of my students.

My lessons & teaching style

I use the textbook Genki to teach grammar and conversation. For intermediate learners, I offer a course that uses Japanese manga videos as learning materials, so you can enjoy studying grammar and culture together. I understand some English, but in lessons I use easy Japanese.

Today was my first lesson with Maki sensei, and it was great! She was very patient with me and even when I made mistakes, she corrected me and was very kind. Her personality is exactly like her video, and she is a very bright and bubbly teacher. I will definitely do more lessons with her in the future!
