Hi, I'm Alex. I was born in the United States, but grew up in Taiwan under a bilingual environment. As such, I'm fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese. I've also been studying Japanese in my own time, and can do hold basic conversation in the language. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Design Computing from the University of Sydney. My specialty is in UI/UX design, and throughout the years have participated in various projects (school and otherwise) designing websites, applications, and other user experiences.

Me as a Teacher

Over the years, I've accumulated various experiences related to teaching. These include helping a local English school create lesson material for young learners, volunteering at a local summer camp, and designing educational apps and learning experiences during university. I've also taken time to obtain an official TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate.

My lessons & teaching style

Because of my experiences learning different languages, I understand how difficult learning a new language can be. I don't believe there is a one-size-fits-all solution to language learning, and in my classes, I will try my best to understand where students' current levels are and help them improve based on their needs and interests. My lessons will mostly be conversation-focused, but I am also more than willing to help with any homework, tests, or other questions about the language.
