Hi! My name is Sarah, a native speaker of English from the United States. I first started teaching English in college, and continued when I moved to China after my undergraduate studies. I then went back for two more years after my master's degree. From my experiences teaching and living in China, I understand the importance of cross-cultural communication skills. I love learning languages, and have studied French and Chinese at an advanced level, as well as some German, Japanese, Korean, and a tiny bit of Russian. I also enjoy travelling and meeting new people, but you can usually find me hanging out at home with my cats and dog, reading books, and watching movies.Me as a Teacher
Whether you want to practice your conversation skills, prepare for an exam, write an essay, or
ace a job interview, I can help you take your English to the next level. My classes are always
student-focused, and designed to let you practice as much as possible. I will focus on your goals,
and we’ll work together to identify and develop the skills you need for success.
I'm always patient and friendly, so you feel supported during your lessons. I love helping students become more confident in their communication skills, both speaking and writing, so if you're nervous about your English, don't worry! We can work together to gradually build your flexibility and confidence. My lessons & teaching style
My goal is to make sure that you spend as much lesson time as possible using English.
A basic lesson structure might look like this:
1) Warm-up: a short activity to get you ready to learn English
2) Introduction of materials: a brief look at a new grammar point or vocabulary set
3) Structured drill: your chance to try out the new material in a simple activity
4) Discussion or role-play: your chance to express yourself and use the new material in a practical situation
If you have a specific goal, such as exam or interview preparation, don't hesitate to contact me and we can adjust our lesson structure to meet your needs. If you're just looking for conversation practice, we can do that too!My teaching material
