I help expats living in or preparing to move to Germany, Austria, or Switzerland develop the fluency they need for everyday conversations, career advancement, and residence or citizenship requirements.

We acquire language in one way one way only: by understanding messages. In our lessons, we develop your listening and reading skills with radio broadcasts, newspaper articles, street interviews, and documentaries from the German-speaking world. The language we acquire here is then funneled into real-life exchanges—workplace meetings, phone calls, ordering at restaurants, booking hotels, asking for directions—along with writing tasks like composing emails, text messages, and instructions.My lessons & teaching style

2018 - Current
Language instructorI have been teaching at Migros Klubschule, Switzerland’s largest private adult education provider, since 2018. My courses range from small groups of 4 to larger classes of up to 16 learners. I use a wide variety of methods and tools—flipcharts, whiteboards, Keynote presentations, live demonstrations, and flexible social formats (individual, pairs, small groups)—to keep every student involved in the learning process.

LecturerI worked as a lecturer at the Hotelfachschule Thun, where I taught English to students preparing for careers in hospitality management. My courses focused on developing the language and communication skills needed for professional contexts in the hotel and tourism industry.

Bachelor’s - Adult EducationThe SVEB 1 is Switzerland’s standard qualification for anyone starting out in adult education. Awarded by the Swiss Federation for Adult Learning (SVEB/FSEA), it prepares teachers to design, run, and reflect on their own courses with adults. It’s the best-known teaching qualification in Swiss adult education and is often expected if you want to work at vocational schools or professional associations.

Technical advisorSince 2016, I have been at the forefront of online language teaching and digital education. Alongside teaching German, French, and English, I have served as a technical advisor for Learning Management Systems (Hueber Digital, Google Suite, BlinkLearning, Moodle) since 2024. I deliver internal training sessions, showing colleagues how to set up and manage their classes and teaching materials in LMS platforms, run online classes, and use digital tools in their in-person teaching sessions.
