Born and raised in Seoul, I now teach Korean in the U.S., specializing in heritage learners—like Korean Americans reconnecting with their roots. My classes blend language, culture, and history, making learning meaningful and personal. Whether you’re starting out or refining fluency, I’ll help you speak confidently while deepening your connection to Korea. Let’s explore this beautiful language together! I worked as an English teacher at a private secondary school in South Korea for 15 years. Language teaching is both my calling and my profession. I know how to design engaging lessons, explain concepts clearly, and adapt my teaching to different learning styles and goals. As a native Korean, I bring a deep understanding of the culture, history, and context behind the language. Most of all, I love learning and connecting with people. I find it deeply rewarding to see learners grow and become the person they aspire to be. My teaching philosophy is learner-centered. I value each learner’s needs, feelings, and goals. As a former language teacher, my teaching style is both organized and flexible. I provide appropriate assignments and feedback that help students apply the language functions they learn in class. I’m also a good listener who is open to feedback from learners, as I believe learning is a shared journey between teacher and student.

Eunkyung made learning Korean a lot of fun. I’m at an intermediate level, and she did a great job tailoring her teaching to where I am. We worked through the book I shared with her (News in Korean), focusing on vocabulary review and reading practice, and she helped ensure my pronunciation was on track. She is both kind and professional.
