Hello! In this lesson, I'd like to gauge your level of French/English by asking a series of simple questions. We'll discuss your experience, your goals, your interests, and the areas in which you struggle with the language. In doing so, I'll be able to construct more effective and personalised lessons for you in the future. As a student myself, I strongly believe in the comprehensible input method. Therefore, I'll only speak French/English unless it's absolutely necessary to switch to another language.

Après tout, vous êtes ici pour acquérir la confiance nécessaire pour affronter le monde et parler, pas pour passer tout votre temps à conjuguer des terminaisons verbales au subjonctif!

I'm originally from Austin, Texas, and I speak with a neutral North American accent in English and a standard Parisian accent in French. My reason for being is to learn as much as I can about the world and the people who inhabit it. I enjoy travelling, anime, music of all kinds  especially music from Brazil , good tea, astronomy, and I'm a terrible skateboarder  yet I continue to do it anyway . I believe I’m able to offer this confidence by providing a relaxed atmosphere where mistakes aren’t just accepted, they’re encouraged.,I completely understand that many students may not know exactly what they want. To me, that's totally fine, and I can certainly come up with a variety of interesting topics to discuss to help the student get accustomed to listening and speaking in the target language. However, if you have any specific grammar questions regarding verb tenses, conditionals, adjective order, or whatever it might be, I can certainly help and provide examples. I believe that discussing articles that pertain to the student's interests is also a fantastic means of language acquisition.
