I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in German literature, language and translation – both from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. I have a Career Certification in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language(CCTAFL) from the American University in Cairo (AUC) and have taught Arabic language and Islamic Studies to people from all over the world. On a personal note, I love to watch films and documentaries from all over the world. I have a keen interest in the melting pot of ideas generated through intellectual and philosophical debates on current affairs. Language is the most powerful tool to foster relations - whether it is between two people or two countries. The Arabic language is graceful and intricate: it is like a tree where at one glance all branches seem separate but, on close inspection are intertwined. Many disparate seeming words are subtly connected by root letters and my methods will help you understand these roots enabling you to identify and recall these branches My philosophy of teaching is to enable the student to be independent. I will provide you the tools to continue learning and exploring the beauty of the Arabic language without dependence on dictionaries but rather through your own reasoning and deduction. After attending numerous classes with Ustadh Ameen, I have found them to be consistently interesting and enjoyable.
