Hello, world!
My name is Manuel, I’m 32 years old and come from Switzerland. For the past half year, I’ve been teaching German at a German school abroad in Medellín, Colombia — an experience that has truly enriched my life in many ways.
Teaching is not just my profession, it’s something I deeply enjoy. I love helping people discover the beauty of the German language and culture, and in return, I get to learn so much from my students every day. Their stories and perspectives inspire me and make my work meaningful.
Languages are an important part of my life — besides my native German, I speak English, Polish, and Spanish fluently. Thanks to that, I can easily connect with people from differentMe as a Teacher
As a teacher, I place great importance on creating a lively, communicative, and motivating learning environment. It is important to me that my students not only learn the language but also develop a genuine understanding of the culture, mindset, and diversity of the German-speaking world. Learning should be enjoyable while also encouraging critical thinking, exploration, and active participation.
In addition, I respond to the individual needs of my students and provide personalized learning materials tailored to their goals and interests. This way, lessons become not only effective but also inspiring. My lessons & teaching style
In my classes, active student participation is at the center of the learning process. I teach in a participatory and co-determined way because I believe that languages are learned most effectively when students are actively involved.
My lessons are varied and interactive, combining communicative methods, collaborative activities, and authentic materials that make learning dynamic and engaging. I value an open and supportive classroom atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and seeing mistakes as a natural part of learning.
