Hi, I’m Iris from Hangzhou, now based in Toronto. I hold a degree in International Finance with a minor in Law, and before teaching I worked in finance, government, and international trade. For the past five years, I’ve been teaching Chinese online and offline, a career I truly love because it allows me to connect with people from all over the world. I enjoy exploring and discussing Chinese culture in depth — from food, clothing, festivals, and local customs, to the origins of Chinese characters and the fascinating stories behind them. I love sharing these experiences and cultural insights with my students, making learning Chinese both meaningful and enjoyable.

Me as a Teacher

I hold a teaching certificate and a Putonghua Proficiency Test (PSC) Level A certification, and a bachelor's degree from Nankai University. For over five years, I’ve taught Chinese online and offline, including at a training center in Toronto. I have extensive experience teaching children, university students, and adults from diverse professional backgrounds, including business, finance, law, HR, healthcare, and trade. This experience allows me to adapt to different learning needs with professionalism and skill. With my qualifications, teaching experience, and broad knowledge, I provide lessons with expertise, reliability, and a high standard of professional quality.

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are lively, interactive, and fully tailored to you! I teach students aged 6 to 60+, covering daily conversation, travel, HSK 1–6, CT 1–6, and especially Business Chinese. I design targeted lessons for professionals such as lawyers, HR, and finance specialists, creating real-work scenarios for role-play and dialogue practice. This makes Business Chinese practical, engaging, and highly efficient. Classes use videos, audio, games, role-play, and news materials to make learning fun and memorable.
