Hi, I’m Melissa, and I specialize in helping people build not just their language skills—but their confidence. As a Confidence Coach and language expert, I’ve spent 12 years turning self-doubt into success—from toddlers giggling at their first English words to students acing the dreaded Goakao 高考. My secret? Blending language skills with mindset tricks that stick. Having lived in a non English speaking country for years, I recognize the day to day struggle of being understood but I’ve also learned the tricks to using the new language confidently.

Me as a Teacher

I’m a TESOL qualified teacher with 12 years of teaching English experience, 9 years in China. I’ve taught one on one and also small classrooms, and a wide variety of ages (8 months old to mature adult). I love people and I love to learn about new cultures. I ask lots of open ended questions that encourage expanding on a typical yes or no question.

My lessons & teaching style

I get my students feeling comfortable and speaking right away. I focus on self-correction and adapting to each students learning style.
