Hey there! I am Kexin, a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing, China. I hold a degree in Portuguese Language and Literature from Beijing Language and Culture University, where I developed a strong foundation in language acquisition methodologies. As a fluent speaker in English and Portuguese, with ongoing studies in Spanish and French, I bring first-hand understanding of language learning + multilingual experience and passion to my teaching practice.
My two-year living and working in Europe has equipped me with substantial cross-cultural communication competencies and a global perspective. I specialize in creating practical, real-world Chinese language learning experiences for my students.Me as a Teacher
I hold a TEM-8 Certificate (Test for English Majors, Band 8) and have achieved C1 (Advanced) proficiency in Portuguese. To date, I have accumulated over 500 hours of online Chinese teaching experience.
I enjoy communicating with students early on to understand their learning needs, language level, personal interests, and learning style, which allows me to tailor my classes accordingly. I focus on teaching practical vocabulary and expressions that students can immediately apply in their daily lives.
In my classes, I typically use photos and mindmaps to present content in a clear and structured way. My approach helps students grasp concepts more logically and facilitates easier memorization. My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is engaging, efficient, and adaptable, tailored to each student’s learning needs, goals, and personality. I enjoy using authentic materials such as images, videos, and trending online expressions to create an immersive experience that brings Chinese language and culture to life. After class, I provide Google Sheets summaries of key vocabulary, sentence patterns, and usage notes—making it easy for students to review and retain what they’ve learned.

Kexin is a wonderful teacher. I really like the approach she takes in my lessons of teaching mostly through the target language (Chinese) and through lively conversation. So far, each lesson has been very well thought out with some being more free-form/ conversational and others being more structured depending on what is covered during the lesson. I find the lessons very interactive and appreciate how much I am given the opportunity to produce the language myself (i.e. making a sentence with a new word in, being asked my opinion on a new word) as well as how seamlessly this is incorporated into the lesson. I find that the notes I get after each lesson are written thoughtfully enough to be a useful learning resource by themselves. Lastly, it is also really nice to have a teacher who is also interested in and knowledgable about languages and cultures around the world as it means I get to have conversations that I would find engaging even in my native language.
