Hello there, English students,
My name is Bart, and I am from San Antonio, Texas, in the United States of America. I have been living in São Paulo, Brazil, for the past ten years.
A little about me personally, I love meeting new people from all over the world. I also love to study geography, culture, and foreign languages. I can speak English fluently, Spanish and Portuguese almost fluently. I can also get by in several other languages including Turkish, French, German, Italian, and Japanese.
My hobbies include cooking, studying philosophy, staying in shape and collecting perfume. I have a collection of over 300 perfumes!Me as a Teacher
I have over 9 years of teaching experience as an ESL teacher. I have taught students from many countries including Brazil, China, Japan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Italy, France, Poland, and Russia, just to name a few. My classes are flexible and can vary depending on the students' needs and preferences. So my classes can be very structured, but they can also be relaxed and easy-going. I tend to adapt to whatever the student prefers. Some students like to have free topic conversation classes that are challenging but interesting and engaging, but other students prefer to focus on grammar or vocabulary. I always pay attention to the students' use of the language and offer corrections as needed. My lessons & teaching style
My classes are relaxed, friendly, and flexible. Many of my students say that I’m a patient and approachable teacher, and that this helps them feel calm and comfortable during lessons. When students feel relaxed, they can focus more on learning and practicing instead of worrying about making mistakes.
In my classes, mistakes are never a problem — they’re opportunities. Whenever a grammar or vocabulary issue appears naturally in conversation, I use it as a chance to explore the point together and turn it into meaningful learning.
