My name is Magi. I’m originally from Switzerland and I’ve been living in Tokyo, Japan for over three years. I love photography and learning foreign languages, and I grew up in a multicultural environment where multilingualism is common. However, French is the only language I spoke at home, and all the other languages I learned came from personal effort and curiosity. Throughout my life, I have studied many languages, including English, Japanese, Spanish, and others. This personal journey helps me deeply understand what it feels like to learn a new language from scratch.Me as a Teacher
I’m not a traditional academic teacher, but I have strong personal experience as a language learner. I know the difficulties, frustrations, and doubts that come with learning a new language, because I went through them myself. My role is to support, guide, and encourage students with patience and empathy. I enjoy helping learners gain confidence, especially beginners, and I focus on practical communication rather than perfection. My goal is to make students feel comfortable, motivated, and supported throughout their learning process. My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are flexible and adapted to each student’s goals. I focus on conversation, pronunciation, and real-life French, the kind people actually use every day. We can also work with TV series, books, or comics, depending on your interests. I encourage staying in French during the lesson to build immersion, but I adapt to your level and pace. Instead of translating, I often use visual explanations and a whiteboard. I want learning French to feel natural, enjoyable, and part of your daily life.My teaching material
