Certified English Teacher | Native Spanish-Speaking Tutor Hi everyone! My name is Cecilia, and I teach English and Spanish. I’m passionate about languages, culture, and the arts. And I also love animals, especially cats! I’ve studied several languages both formally and independently, so I know both the rewards and challenges of learning a language, including that feeling of knowing what you want to say but not quite finding the words! I adapt my lessons to each student’s level, goals, interests, and learning style. We can focus on conversation, grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, or combine different areas depending on what you need. I believe languages are best learned through meaningful communication. Grammar and structure are important too, and we can explore them through topics and materials that are relevant and useful to you. Growing up in Uruguay and later spending about a decade living in the United States gave me a close connection to both languages and cultures. If you’re learning Spanish, I can introduce you to Rioplatense Spanish and its particular features, while also helping you understand differences between varieties of Spanish and communicate with speakers from different places. I want you to feel comfortable speaking, asking questions, and making mistakes. Mistakes give us valuable information about what you’re learning and are a natural part of making progress in a language. I can support your learning through English, Spanish, French, or Italian. Really enjoyed trial lesson with Cecilia. She is patient and friendly but also corrects you and pushes you to improve. Even if I have advanced level I still have many things to learn. She gave me good guidance and I learned something new already in first lesson. Definitely recommend!
