¡Hola! Soy Meliana, I was born in Venezuela and I'm a Spanish teacher. I have taught English and Spanish but my passion has always been teaching Spanish! I have also learned a bit of French so I know the point of view of a student and I know it's not easy to have the courage to learn a new language. I have 5 years now working as a Spanish teacher on Italki and I have more than 6000 lessons completed. Crazy!
Me as a Teacher
I'm a very flexible teacher. I truly don't think learning a language while suffering is a good idea. I want you to speak as much Spanish as possible but I understand students' limits. The idea is to make you speak more and more Spanish with each lesson so you feel more comfortable with the language. My lessons are based on the students' needs, according to the level I'll choose a topic/grammar, but I also love opinions, suggestions and questions! If you want to practice something in specific or you have a question about a specific grammar that you saw/heard on a TV show or an article, I'd love to work with that too :)My lessons & teaching style
If you are a beginner I can help you with basic phrases and vocabulary, with practice we will improve your level.
If you're an intermediate or advanced student we will talk a lot to help you feeling comfortable in Spanish and to not feel the necessity of thinking in your native language.
I'm open to hear your opinions and we can make an incredible class, adapted to your needs and your favorite topics. Do not hesitate to schedule a trial class so we can meet each other and establish a lesson plan.My teaching material
