Hello! I’m Kohei, originally from Kyoto and currently based in the Netherlands. I work as a Japanese language teacher, and I’m also active as a music producer and performer. I have a wide range of interests, including travel, movies, novels, and cooking. I enjoy bringing these topics into my lessons to make learning Japanese more fun and engaging. I believe language learning becomes more effective when it connects to what you truly enjoy. I love learning about different cultures and sharing ideas with people from around the world. In my lessons, I focus on developing natural conversation skills while incorporating topics that interest you

Me as a Teacher

I have taught Japanese to more than 50 students both in Japan and abroad. My teaching experience includes helping students prepare for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and supporting students who were studying Japanese for entrance exams to Japanese high schools. While living overseas, I also had the opportunity to teach Japanese at local schools using English. Through these experiences, I have worked with students from different backgrounds. I am currently studying Dutch (A2). Having experienced firsthand the challenges of language learning, I strive to provide flexible instruction tailored to your goals, guided by the motto of “practical and enjoyable learning.”

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are relaxed and friendly, but also structured to make sure you improve step by step. I balance: A chill atmosphere The right amount of challenge and pressure so you can stay motivated and keep progressing. Materials If you don’t have a textbook, no problem! I usually use: Minna no Nihongo Genki But I can also provide equivalent materials tailored to your level and goals.

My teaching material
