My name is sophie, and I was born in Seoul, Korea. I lived and studied in the Phillipines for 5 yrs, and in Canada for 7 yrs. Although I spent most of my life outside Korea, I always had Korean friends and classmates around me so I was able to stay as Korean through Korean. I can help you with reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Korean.

Me as a Teacher

I provide a comfortable environment to students encouraging them to speak up with confidence.

My lessons & teaching style

I do free talking with students about different topics in Korean. I like including vocabulary and using them in sentences. I sometimes give out quizzes or assignments from our previous lesson to review the things that you learned.

Suhyun (Sofia) is such a sweet, caring, diligent, and patient Korean tutor. She put a lot of effort into preparing materials in advance and tailored the lesson to my needs. I had a wonderful first session with her. She speaks excellent English and explains the nuances of the Korean alphabet with great clarity. With her, it’s not just about learning the language—it’s also about discovering the culture and exchanging interesting topics. I would highly recommend her!
